Jacqueline Silva

Jacqueline Silva (born July 17, 1979) is a professional surfer from Florianopolis, Brazil. She is considered to be a pioneer in women's Brazilian surfing and has garnered the best results from someone from Brazil, male or female. She began at a time when there were no female categories in Brazilian surfing championships. Among her notable accomplishments was winning the 1996 Brazilian Amateur Champion and World Champion in the World Qualifying Series in 2001. In 2004 she became the first Brazilian to ever win an event in the World Championship Tour when she won the open at Australia’s Gold Coast.
